Pakistan plane crash: At least 17 dead as military aircraft in horror Rawalpindi collision

A PAKISTAN plane crashed into a built-up area in the city of Rawalpindi, a city in the country’s Punjab province, killing at least 17 people.

All five members of the crew and 12 civilians from the surrounding built up area have been killed in the military aircraft crash. Two pilots and three crew members, were killed and several others injured after the plane belonged to the Pakistan Army Aviation. The exploding plane set off a fire in the city.

Rescue teams were at the scene and extinguished the fire.

The rescue team released a statement saying: “Shortly after, a massive fire broke out at the crash site near the Rabi Centre shopping mall, engulfing several houses and leaving at least 15 people injured.”

The incident happened during a routine training flight, local media reported on Tuesday.
