Anthony Joshua’s worth £100 MILLION Whilst residing in Ex-Council Flat

ANTHONY JOSHUA does not spend his multi-million pound fortune on himself, preferring to treat those around him, and the humble two time world heavyweight champion still lives in an ex-council house.

  • Anthony Joshua says ‘simplicity’ was key in Andy Ruiz fight

While other sportsmen and celebrities talk about keeping it real Anthony Joshua really does – saying he values family, friends and community above any amount of money. An insider close to the boxing champ said: “AJ doesn’t splash his cash on himself but he does on others; his team, his family, his past trainers, his friends and his community. He could have bought himself a mansion years ago but that has been his last priority because he’s made sure everyone else was sorted first.

“He could have bought himself a mansion years ago but that has been his last priority because he’s made sure everyone else was sorted first.

“The gifts aren’t him being flash, it’s him showing his gratitude.”

Joshua is very close to his mum, social worker Yeta Odusanya, often posting gushing tributes to her on social media.

Although he’s rented a lavish £20,000-a-week mansion in the past, he actually still lives with her in a two-bed ex-council estate in Golders Green, north London.

The boxer bought the property for his mum for £175,000 after his Olympic heroics in 2013.

After moving back in with his mother, the 6ft 6ins champ told The Sun Online: “We’re back together.

“It’s great.”

He credits his mother for his success, after she got him on the straight and narrow following a rebellious period in his youth.

Joshua, who has two sisters and a brother, has previously told how he did not want his fame and success to jeopardise his relationship with his mother.

Following a fight last year, he said: “I’ll take the belt home and she’s proud, but I want to keep our mother-son relationship on a level and not be like she favours me as her son because I’m world champion.”

The grounded boxer described how he still helps her with chores around the house.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “I’ll still do that, buying the milk, eggs, anything like that.”

He added: “The only thing I ask mum to help me with is my food, so she does most of the shopping, gets the fish, meat and chickens and stuff.

“But I do more than my fair share when I’m at home.”

Joshua on why Ruiz is different from his other opponents

In another interview with the London Evening Standard last year, he said: “I still live at home.

“Mum’s cooking is amazing and it is great to have my family so close.

“Mum is used to the way I have to train now so she makes amazing food to help me recharge and prepare for fights.”

His parents split when he was 12 but he’s still close to his dad, Robert, too.

AJ’s first boxing coach Sean Murphy explains: “He’s got a little boy Joseph, two and his mum looks after the little one when he’s away, so they spend a lot of time together when he’s home.

“They’re very close.

“Josh is a down-to-earth, nice person and that’s down to his mum and dad who have taught him right from wrong and made him very respectful.”

AJ also bought a £500,000 penthouse in Finchley, North London, for his ex-girlfriend and Joseph’s mum, Nicole Osbourne, despite them splitting.

He rewards his team for their efforts with luxury holidays, nights out, shopping sprees and flights by private jets.

Joshua became a two-time world heavyweight champion with a unanimous points victory over Andy Ruiz Jr in a tense rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Ruiz weighed in at 20st 3lb for this rematch, 15lb heavier than the first bout.

Trained by legendary boxing coach Rob McCracken Anthony Joshua is set to double his net worth to over £100m after beating Andy Ruiz Jr in this rematch.

AJ now joins a small cluster of men including Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and Floyd Patterson to have reclaimed the world heavyweight title.
