Following the order of the IGP to kill all the Biafran agitators and unknown gunmen, the Nigerian Army, and Police operatives have adopted a house-to-house raid to fish out IPOB/ESN members in the South-East and the South-South region.
The Nigeria Army and the police intelligence response team have stormed houses in the Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and Igbo-Eze community to arrest suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network official in a house-to-house raid.
According to a report, the raid started on Monday with many residents reporting that their family members, mostly young men, are been picked and whisked away by the military to undisclosed locations.
It was gathered that the military and the police carried out the same operation in Owerri annexed communities in Imo State and the Port Harcourt area of Rivers State.
There was a reported shoot-out at Douglas Road, Owerri, yesterday between the army, the police, and unknown gunmen over the indiscriminate arrests. There is an inflow of Nigeria military in the Onicha-Igboeze Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. They are parading from house-to-house arresting suspected IPOB members and their families.
South-East is currently under attack and people are being taken by the military from their homes to unknown locations. Many young men are being abducted in Port Harcourt and Borokiri, Rivers State by police operatives and are tagged, unknown gunmen.
According to a reliable source, as of Saturday, Nigerian Army started a seven-day showdown with the IPOB and ESN in a show of force. They reported that the military had moved in new ammunition and explosives into the 34 Artillery Brigade in Obinze, Owerri in Imo State.
The military forces have reinforced troops from some of its formations fighting insurgency in Bornu State to join the troops in the South-East region over IPOB/ESN and military clashes.
This is a measure adopted by the military as ordered by the President to the Service Chiefs and IGP, in a security meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
