Yoruba Nation Agitators unveil Modus Operandi

Advertisements

The Yoruba Nation Agitators, ‘Ilana Omo Oodua’, have released guidelines that stipulated conditions that must be followed when holding a rally or protest and was signed by its leader, Professor Banji Akintoye.

The manual states in part “we the Yoruba lead in the choice of peaceful and law-abiding path to our goals of a separate country of our own and will always faithfully operate with strategies of peaceful Organization, Demands, Propaganda, Protests, Legal Actions, Political Persuasions, and Negotiations. We will push for negotiating tables and never push for street brawls or any other type of confrontations. If we discover among our people, activist, or group of person that is inclined towards violence, we will encourage to turn instead to peaceful and law-abiding means”.

We are persuaded that the peaceful approach is better and likely to succeed after careful study of the records of separatist activities in the world. None of the use of violence or terroristic method in agitation for Self-determination or Autonomy achieves its aims rather it generates confrontation and wars with the Governments of their Countries which can be avoided. Young activists must know that the use of rough and violent means does not usually bring success but can even prevent it.

The group encouraged the Yoruba to demonstrate civilisation and maturity while resolutely and irrepressibly pushing our way forward to our goals.

The guide was released three days after Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho was arrested in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin on his way to Germany.
