EE is offering you a very tempting reason to upgrade to superfast 5G

EE AND OnePlus have joined forces to offer consumers a big reason to make the switch to fast 5G.

EE 5G deal offers £200 off the OnePlus 7 Pro

EE switched on its 5G signal back in May with the network the first in the UK to offer superfast downloads.

5G is capable of delivering the internet to devices at speeds that are around 10 times quicker than most home broadband.

In a recent test, performed by Express.co.uk, we witnessed speeds of over 300Mbps which is fast enough to download a full HD movie in around two minutes.

There’s no question that 5G is the future of the smartphone but there is one issue as you need a compatible device to access this new service as your current 4G phone won’t work.

However, there is now a tempting offer which helps to make the switch a little cheaper.

EE has joined forces with OnePlus to offer a discount when you trade in your 4G phone.Between now and August 1, people who decide to upgrade to 5G will get a guaranteed minimum £200 off their contract.

The only terms are the trade-in device must be in good working order, power up and have no major screen damage to qualify.

If a device is worth more, customers will benefit from a larger discount.

Once customers have traded, the £200 credit can be used to cover the upfront cost, purchase accessories, or as a credit on EE accounts.

As a quick reminder, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G features a Fluid AMOLED Display, fast Snapdragon 855 processor, big 4,000mAh battery and triple rear camera.

The news of this deal comes as the 5G revolution begins to pick up pace.

Vodafone switched on its new signal earlier this month with the network now offering fully unlimited data on 5G.

Three will be next with it revealing its 5G service will launch in August.

The firm is boasting that, at launch, its technology will be at least two times faster than any other UK provider.

EE announced the launch of 5G back in May

In fact, Three is convinced it will be the only network that can offer a ‘true’ 5G experience.

The firm has revealed a £2 billion infrastructure investment which includes the acquisition of the UK’s leading 5G spectrum portfolio, a world first cloud core network from Nokia, and a super high-capacity smart antenna network.

Three will begin by pushing its 5G signal straight into homes in a bid to shake up the fixed-line broadband market.
