Nigeria vs Tunisia: Super Eagles finish in third place at AFCON 2019

Advertisements

Nigeria defeated Tunisia 1-0 in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations third-place playoff on Wednesday night.

The Super Eagles missed the chance to play in the final, after they were beaten 2-1 by Algeria, with Riyad Mahrez smashing in the winner with the last kick.

However, Odion Ighalo’s early goal, ensured Gernot Rohr’s men clinched bronze medal.

The victory means Nigeria have never lost a third-place fixture in the history of the AFCON, winning all eight they have featured in.

The final will take place on Friday between Senegal and Algeria.
