Nigerian Super Eagles hit their Polish counterparts 2-1

Nigeria will play Poland in a pre-2026 World Cup friendly game on Wednesday night.

It is the second time both countries will face each other in history.

The Super Eagles arrived for the match only days after they retained the Unity Cup.

Eric Chelle’s men won the tournament thanks to a perfect record against Zimbabwe and Jamaica.

On the other hand, Poland will use the game to prepare for the World Cup. It is their second friendly match, after they beat Ukraine 2-0.

Nigeria won 1-0 the first time they played each other in a March 2018 friendly.

FIRST HALF: Superb build-up from the Super Eagles and Moffi tucks home Moses Simon’s low cross. 1-0.

Potulski levelled from a corner-kick for Poland. 1-1.

HALF TIME. Both sides went into the break level at 1-1.

SECOND HALF: Onuachu calmly strokes home a penalty to give Nigeria a 2-1 lead.

FULL TIME: Poland equalized with the last kick of the game. Wisniewski smashed the ball past Maduka Okoye from way out. 2-2.
